As we moved into
Tarangire National Park
we again noticed the immense trees that we saw at Lake
Manyara,
as
well as the mandatory zebras
. This
national park is known for its elephants, and they were everywhere.
As we
headed towards our destination for the evening, we noticed more impalas
and
were fortunate enough to see a couple of lions
. The
sunset over the plains was absolutely awesome
, and
the finally we reached our lodge
for the night. The next morning, we left the Sopa Lodge
in our
safari vans (Dallas and Gary)
and
headed out to see some more wildlife.
. I
even caught a video of some more monkeys. As I
screwed around with my
camera, I
discovered that I could shoot black and white photos as well as color.
Therefore, I instantly thought of myself as the next
Ansel Adams. :-) Here's a shot of
one of the many
termite hills found in Africa
, more
of the trees and landscape
, and
yet more zebras.
As I
mentioned earlier, this park has one of the biggest elephant populations in
Africa, and it shows.
I also
was fortunate to catch one of the elephants eating (video1,
video2). I got one more picture of the cape
buffaloes
before
we had lunch back at the Sopa Lodge.
After lunch, we headed back to Arusha for our
final night in Africa. The next day, before our flight, Armand and I took a
little stroll over the Arusha Gymkhana Club, which is the home to one of 5 golf
courses in Tanzania.
. On
the way back to the States, we had a layover in London where I got a few more
pictures.
All in all, I had an amazing time in Africa. I would recommend this trip to anyone!
